Mardy's Tennis & Jake's Music Fest to Benefit the Mardy Fish Foundation and Jake Owen Foundation provides companies and individuals with cause-related marketing benefits and a strong community association. Mardy's Tennis & Jake's Music Fest is a two-day event that consists of a unique combination of tennis and music. It begins on Friday, December 9, with a Kids' Tennis Clinic followed by a Reception with a Live and Silent Auction and Tennis Exhibition featuring Mardy Fish, and other tennis professionals. The event will continue on Saturday, December 10, with a Concert by Grammy nominated RCA recording artist Jake Owen and some of country's hottest performers.

In 2006, Mardy decided to form his own foundation and join forces with his childhood friend country singer Jake Owen to create an event that would benefit the Vero Beach community through a combination of his and Jake's greatest loves; tennis and music. The result was Mardy's Tennis & Jake's Music Fest to Benefit the Mardy Fish Foundation. In 2010, Jake Owen established the Jake Owen Foundation, a beneficiary of Mardy's Tennis & Jakes Music Fest, and through the Jake Owen Foundation the event now also benefits children nationally who are battling cancer and other childhood diseases. Fish and Owen have been joined at the event by professional athletes and celebrities throughout the years.

Beneficiaries:

Mardy Fish Foundation
The Mardy Fish Foundation mission is to provide children access to after school exercise, nutritional and enrichment programs in a safe environment to prepare them for healthy, productive and successful lives so they can achieve their dreams. Since its establishment in 2006, the Mardy Fish Foundation has opened after school programs in 13 elementary schools in the community, benefiting more than 2,000 students in Indian River County. The programs provide a place for children to go and partake in various clubs that will help them better themselves using sports, music, art and dance. The clubs include: dance, morning fitness, cheerleading, health & fitness, flags, step, drama, guitar, drums, keyboard, tennis, track, baseball, basketball, gardening and nutritional cooking, art and video production.

In 2009, the Foundation initiated another city-wide program, Mardy's Kids on Courts, that allows local youth to improve their tennis skills through instruction and competition while instilling the many life-lessons tennis has to offer. The Mardy Fish Foundation has supported other youth organizations since its inception including the Boys & Girls Club of Vero Beach and The Youth Guidance Foundation.

Jake Owen Foundation
The Jake Owen Foundation, established in 2010, was created to offer its support on a national level to children battling cancer and other childhood diseases while also lending its support to the Mardy Fish Foundation and its mission to assist youth in Owen's hometown area of Indian River County, FL.

Through Jake's association with the country music community, he has had the opportunity to visit children and families at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, who are benefiting from the extensive research and patient care the hospital provides. Once a patient is accepted, St. Jude covers all medical costs beyond those covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay.

St. Jude also provides transportation, lodging, and meals for one parent and child. Nicholas Weiss was one of the many special children Jake met a few years ago, who was battling a devastating childhood disease. Nicholas became an inspiration to Jake and fueled his passion to support St. Jude and related charities. In June of 2010, young Nicholas lost his battle shortly before his 10th birthday, but as a result of their special friendship, Jake has dedicated himself to raise awareness for children like Nicholas and their families who face these difficult struggles. The Jake Owen Foundation will direct money raised through Mardy's Tennis & Jake's Music Fest to the Mardy Fish Foundation and to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which is the single largest center in the U.S. for the treatment and research of pediatric cancer and other childhood catastrophic diseases. Jake has reached out to the country music community to assist him with his Foundation and its cause by asking artists to join him for the Jake Owen Concert, which is part of the annual fundraiser, Mardy's Tennis & Jake's Music Fest.
